The Courtyard Suites are luxury, modernized heritage cottages. They are comfortable with modern amenities and contemporary decor. Each Suite has a large open plan room with sleeping and lounge area, kitchenette, Morso fireplace and television with DSTV. The Vishuis Courtyard Suites all have large comfortable queen beds with cotton sheets; the bathrooms are large and modern with a spacious walk-in shower, pure cotton towels, a heated towel rail and toiletries.
The Courtyard Suites have access to the courtyard garden, with a spa pool garden furniture and Weber Braai. WiFi is available.
The Vishuis Cottage Collection
The Vishuis is ideally located for a busy stay in Hermanus, guests can park their cars and walk to all Hermanus’ facilities. The Old Harbour, Market Square and the Waterfront are a mere 200m walk away. There a numerous restaurants, coffee shops and bars within walking distance. The art galleries, book shops and boutiques too, are a walk away.
Despite The Vishuis’ central location, guests are not part of the hustle and bustle of the village, as it is situated in a quiet back lane. So there is no passing traffic or trade. Instead guests are able to enjoy the peace and quiet of a small village.
Hermanus is famous for its incredible natural beauty. The Cliff path (which stretches from the New Harbour to Grotto Beach, for approximately 10kms), can be accessed 200m from The Vishuis. Guests can walk 300m to the natural marine tidal pool amongst the rocks, for an early morning swim. A walk on the mountain in The Fernkloof Nature Reserve can be accessed about 1km away.

Praise for the Vishuis
The Vishuis is simply fantastic! We stayed in cottage 1 for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage is very spacious, has a modern ensuite bathroom and is beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail and a truly artistic spirit. Also the garden courtyard with its many plants and the small pool is so charming and peaceful. Being centrally located, the cliff path and many coffee shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The breakfast vouchers were a special treat – much appreciated! Many thanks also to Marc for the super friendly welcome and farewell! We would love to come back some day and can highly recommend this stunning place! Thank you so much Danny & Marc!
Wirklich wunderschöne Unterkunft – die beste bisher auf unserer Südafrika Tour! Wunderbare Einrichtung, himmlisches Bett, alles sehr sauber. Der Innenhof ist malerisch und die Kräuter duften herrlich, man darf sie auch fürs kochen benutzen. Marc war sehr nett und flexibel was An- und Abreise anging. Der alte Hafen, die Küstenwege und Restaurants sind fussläufig. Zum Frühstückt gab es einem 200 Rand Gutschein für ein superniedliches Café. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall länger hier zu bleiben, wir waren leider nur eine Nacht dort…
Very beautiful apartments! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we found that little extra, that was missing in all other accommodations on our trip. Like a nespresso machine, fire wood and lighters for the fire place, umbrellas, pencils and paper to draw, bowls for the dogs and more. Marc is really friendly and kind, gave us lots of recommendations! Besides that, Hermanus is a great place, very artsy, nice beach, friendly people and quite a few bars and restaurants! We will definitely come back!
